Fabric Care

OILSKIN

• Brush off any dirt
• Clean with cold water, lightly sponge if necessary
• Do not use soap or detergent
• If coat is very dirty or has an odour, we recommend washing in Oilskin & Wool Detergent available from our Factory Outlet
• Do not dry clean, starch, iron or tumble dry
• Hang garment in a dry, airy place to dry naturally
• Store in a dry place
• Whether your coat will require re-proofing depends on the amount and type of usage your coat will get. We have 2 re-proofing products available from our Factory Outlet. A pump pack product, Oilskin Reproofer which is handy for reproofing small areas such as the seat of motor cycle pants; and a can of the original wax proof treatment, Coat Dressing suitable for redressing all of the coat or to use on small areas.

DURAPEL / DRIPEL

• Machine wash using warm (not hot) water and a mild detergent
• Do not use bleach or fabric softener
• May be tumble dried on warm cycle
• Hot iron
• Dry cleanable
• It is unlikely that your coat will require reproofing unless it is washed excessively with a strong detergent. If this is required, we have a trigger pack product called Brellagard available from our Factory Outlet which has been formulated by the fabric manufacturers to crystalise with the original polymers to reform the shield

CANVAS

• Keep clean by brushing regularly inside and out
• Hose occasionally with clean, clear, cold water
• Dry thoroughly before packing away
• Mildew spots can be treated with very weak solution of white king bleach. It is important that canvas is thoroughly rinsed after using bleach solution.
• If reproofing is required use only products recommended for canvas and fabrics. Brellagard bionic reproofing compound is available from our factory outlet. It is an environmentally friendly spray treatment which repels dirt, grease, water and oil.
